If osmosis occurs the molecules pass through the membrane then diffusion kicks in and the molecules start spreading through different parts of the egg and will make it larger in size.If the temperature is warm the egg will move faster then when its cold,depends on the temperature.
procedure
put an egg in vinegar for 3 days
take the egg out of the vinegar and the shell should be gone
place the eggs in different solutions called hyper tonic and hypo tonic
observation
my observation is when they took the egg out of the vinegar there was no left over shell and the weight was 96 grams and was a lot bigger then the plain egg that weighed only 65 grams.
conclusion I concluded that the egg did all the right things that it was supposed to do and the size difference between was unbelievable when they were in different solutions.
